“Grab yo ticket…tickeeeeeett”
Haha this was my shiit. Still is. What I love about the Dungeon Family is that they’re a unique group of talented individuals who do their own thing, yet are still dope when they come together. Damn, it’s been a while since I had a SOFD! Enjoy, y’all. This should take you back.
Personally, I thought I was late (about 3 years ago) on learning who Talib Kweli is and what he and his music represented. That doesn’t matter because music is timeless and lately Kweli has been gaining quite some attention over the past few years. It’s dope to see a DOCUMENTARY on an MC who is actually alive and continually doing positive things for himself and his community. Check out the preview for the documentary below.
Props to REALTALKNY for the video

Airto is one of Youtube’s best soul singers. His renditions of other people’s songs SHITS on the original quite often. This week, Airto covers Usher’s supposed next single, ‘His Mistakes (I Can’t Win)’. This is how you do a cover.
So the last time I posted, I wrote about my frustration with the iPhone 3G especially with getting it properly activated. What’s ironic is that IMMEDIATELY after posting the angry blog post, I managed to get my iPhone to work. The first few days were filled with much confusion. The screen dims when you talk on the phone whcih lead to difficult manually hanging up. Now, I often use the headphones while in a conversation so if I avoid holding the phone vertically the phone’s buttons lights up allowing all normal functions.
I am using a gel case with a sticker for the front screen, along with a leather hip case. After much time, I’ve gotten the hang of the phone and the lack of common cell phone features such as bluetooth and multi-media messages do not bother me.
I’ve downloaded many free applications and games from Apple’s App Store. It was surprising to see how impressive certain apps were since they were free.
With ringtones, I had to purchase the original song but get to customize my own ringtone which was another .99 cents. Overall, both the song and ringtone combined cost $1.99 which was not a problem since most ringtones cost $2.49+ and you get to chose which specific part of a song you want as the ringtone with fading in and out options.
I’m growing to really like this phone.

It’s about that time that our favorite drummer from our favorite hip hop band, Questlove of The Roots, designs his first sneaker. Questo is the definition of creative and genius. Here is the end result.

Props to TSS for the image
Personally, I’m feelin em. I’ve been looking for gold/silver low AF1s all summer. Questo will be attending the release of the sneaker in various regions. Unfortunately, LA will be the closest location in Ca so it won’t make it. The kicks will be released August 1st according to the man himself. More info at Questo’s blog.
One of my favorite tracks of ‘07 AND ‘08 was Trey Songz’s ‘Missing You‘. I anticipated the video, because Trey had been talking about it for some time now. It was strange how he decided to debut the video through myspace/youtube instead of MTV or BET but we live in a digital world, so it is what it is. In this video, I see Trey is sad and in the club, then back to being sad…in the club. That’s pretty much it throughout the entire video. I suppose R&B videos are rarely exciting, but perhaps I had higher expectation. Nonetheless, the track is dope and the video is below. What y’all think of it?
Regardless of how many times Zune plays the shit out of the song, I am still able to enjoy it. Luckily, there isn’t a place for N*E*R*D at my local radio station so their music doesn’t get played out. What I dig about N*E*R*D is that they’re like a hip hop alternative R&B rock group. REALLY. You have to listen to all of their music to truly grasp that. It’s refreshing to see Pharrell not as a trend-setting metrosexual. Haha. The video is above.
* I did NOT take all these photos. OBVIOUSLY HAHA, but enjoy!

As always, click on page 2 for the rest of the photos.
This morning, I had about two hours of sleep. Around 6:30AM I headed to the AT&T store to stand in line for the new iPhone 3G. I’ve said plenty times I do not LOVE the phone, but perhaps I will grow to appreciate it’s feature and what it has to offer. It took me some time, but I loved my BlackJack II before I lost it. Also, I dig Apple products.
Anyway, by 9:15AM I am finally let in. All of the cases and accessories for the phone were ugly and overpriced, so I decided to pass on that. Bluetooth headsets were crazy expensive as well. Aside from the server delays, I was pretty much in and out.
I arrive at home around 10AM and am confused by the lack of a ‘Getting Started’ guide which most electronics come with. I am not a retard and I can figure shit out on my own, but it’s best to know what to and what to avoid. So, I plug in the USB into my laptop and…nothing. iTunes says it cannot connect to the store page, therefore meaning I cannot activate my phone!
I restart my computer, no wuk. I tried my desktop PC, no wuk. I called AT&T (fuck that, I’m not finna sit here getting aggravated when it’s unlikely something I’m doing wrong) and the representative told me that because the iPhone 3G was released in many regions today, and the East Coast is 3 hours ahead of California, there is a huge delay because everyone is trying to activate their phones all at once. That was the same excuse for the delay when I purchased the phone which is all understandable.
My issue is htat I sit here 2 hours later with an unactivated iPhone. It’s fucking frustrated but I suppose I shall get over it. I’m just pissed that I barely got sleep and still haven’t had breakfast (it is not noon.) I will leave it alone for now and once I get the shit working, I will explain the pros and cons of the iPhone 3G.

According to a bulletin on myspace from Tyrese, the singer/actor explains his decision to take a break from his 10+ years of the music biz to focus on his movie career. Some quotes of the bulletin are below:
