Looooove this track. Classic. I love D’Angelo’s muscial style. He’s smooth and his voice just flows over the beat. It’s the soulful vibe that I can chill to that I love. That song takes definitely takes me back. D’Angelo needs to return to music, R&B needs him.

Trey Songz is back once again and this time with a new street single titled ‘Brand New.’ This is some real club shit that I really enjoy. Trey is rapping and singing on this track. Honestly, I’m waiting on the more soulful material but I’m not mad at this song at all. I’m sure everyone is still very much anticipating ‘Ready’ but I still enjoy all of the remixes and covers Trey is doing. This is exactly how and why your boy Trey Songz is one of the best and stays relevant.

I’m not sure what business I have making an online portfolio since I’m barely getting into this photography game but I wanted a place to display some of my current favorite shots I’ve taken. My Canon G9 is helping me to take better photos with the advantages of all the additional effects that I have barely edited (or even re-size) photos ever since the camera purchase! Hopefully in time I can become a better photographer and build a real portfolio. If you have time, please check out my online portfolio via carbonmade.com
P.S. Isn’t it just WONDERFUL that my city (Stockton, California) is listed as one of America’s most miserable cities? I’m not surprised… Thanks Cam for the link.

It’s about that time again. Last month, I barely got around to my weekend recap, so I just did a monthly one. I figured, why not do a whole week. A lot goes on in a week. Matter of fact, every Friday for the next month and a half I have some type of event to be at ! As crazy as that is, I enjoy being able to go out to do things and staying busy. Before all of that happens, this past week was filled with many interesting happenings.
First of all, I’ve been listening to Drake’s new mixtape ‘So Far Gone’ on repeat all weekend. Drake not only kills it with his rhymes, but can also sing and his music is very diverse. He’s still kinda new to the game but he’s shitting on everyone as far as I’m concerned.

It’s another one from the kid B.O.B. This dude is beyond diverse and I dig everything he does.

A day when men are expected to go buy balloons, flowers and take their women out to expensive dinners. I think. If you don’t do that romantic shit on the regular, I suppose there’s a reason for this holiday. Oh yeah and if you like it, then you should just put a rubber on it. I mean unless you want kids, that is haha.

Have I been sleeping on Ryan Leslie? I wouldn’t say that. Honestly, at first I felt dude was not an exceptional singer. He didn’t seem to have a vocal range which impressed me so in that sense, I didn’t pay too much attention. BUT Ryan produces amazing beats and is quite wonderful with the harmonies. Ryan Leslie has his own voice and style, he sticks to it and it works well. He is a multi-talented and intelligant dude and I can NOT hate on that. I also think I read from somewhere that he’s from my hometown Stockton, California. Anyway, Ryan Leslie’s self-titled debut album is out NOW! Please support good and real music!

Here is one of India.Arie’s latest single ‘Chocolate High‘ featuring her good friend Musiq Soulchild. I enjoy the song because of the laid back vibe and you can see the chemistry in the video yet also hear it in their voices. I missed India.Arie. Her new album Testimony 2: Love & Politics is in stores today!

we have a new member of our family (my real family, that is.) On 02/02/09, my niece Nancy had her first son Adrian. So that makes him my…. grand-nephew? Haha here’s some pics.

Apparently, I’ve been very behind on my weekend recaps (and blogging in general) so I decided why not do a monthly recap of January. A lot of birthdays came and went. I finally got to see my good friend Mary and we discussed many things which led to a lesson on a certain part of the male anatomy (photo below). We also had a “random” and “accidental” trip to San Francisco which I throught would’ve been fun until I caught light of REALITY.
