You should all know by now I love my mid-to-late 90’s R&B. This song is a classic and we all wild out when we hear this in the club. I didn’t really understand what the song meant when it came out (I was hella young) but I think it’s hilarious because I’m sure every man who’s danced in the club can relate.

Today was my niece Jily’s 5th birthday. It was nice to chill with family, drink a little (or a lot) and just cool out. Friends and family came over and we had us a good ol’ time. BELIEVE that I was all up in the jumper hurting all kinda childrens (unintentionally, of course ha!)
Tonight (Thursday night) I went out with some of the boys to a lounge called ‘856′ at a “nicer” part out town. I was slightly skeptic of the place because I heard different responses of people’s past experiences there but I’m always down to try something fun. Although I had a little fun, it was nothing spectular. The women were acting esspecially stank (not wanting to dance, being stuck up when they weren’t even THAT cute), people were all coupled out and making out in public (vomit in the mouth) and the music was ALMOST decent. I didn’t enjoy the music at all and because I had already been drinking, I wasn’t tryna overdo the alcohol. I swear, I heard the worst remix of T.I.’s ‘Whatever You Like’ ever and the only song I was really feelin was DJ Class‘ “I’m The Ish”. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience for free admission yet nothing special. Perhaps it was just because it was a Thursday night? I doubt it.
P.S. The title of this post was a quote from one of my friends at the bar when he may have been gettin’ a little too fresh(?) I thought it was hilarious. “How you suppose to respond when she dancing like that?!” Ha!

The Oceans are comprised of Jermaine Dupri, producer Bryan Michael-Cox, singer/songwritter Johnta Austin, Usher and JD’s assistant Tyrone. In the clip above, JD and Johnta introduce Trey at R&B Live in New York. I’ve been watching JD’s “Living The Life” video blogs for the past few months and it is pure comedy. Yessssss. I’m back to blogging and I’m gon stay on it. These past few days have been especially long and it seems like it’s not stopping anytime soon. My niece’s birthday is tomorrow which should be fun. Hopefully, there will be a water slide jumper. I’m not even playin. Me + Grey goose + a jumper AND waterslide?! HA, let me stop. Just wanna keep everyone updated. The weekend is commmmming and I am ready!
I use to always think Pharrell was boring (regardless of the fact that the Neptunes’ beats are CRAZY dope) because he was always so calm in interviews. THEN I saw videos of him performing with N*E*R*D. Obviously, my theory was proven wrong. In this clip, Pharrell is singing and dancing to persuade some Mc Donalds employees at an airport in Paris to open the restaurant early. Unfortunately, mission failed.

Trey Songz FINALLY releases his new single “I Need A Girl” which was produced by Stargate and written by Johnta Austin (I believe, not 100% sure.) At first listen, this track felt very different as a song from Trey, but it quickly grew on me. Can’t wait to hear more new content from the album. Supposedly, ‘Ready’ will be released in June. Apparently from the comments left on the blog, we all BEEN ready for the new album, Trey! Don’t forget to show Trey some love via his twitter.

Ciara is back and doing the daaamn thang. Wasn’t really feelin’ “Go Girl” nor “Never Ever” too much, so I’m glad she came with a different approach. Although this track sounds like something straight off JT’s last album, I’m not mad because the song fits Ciara’s voice. Ciara is gettin’ doooowwwnn (and up and round n round) in the video. I don’t know if the ear-lickage was necessary though.

Friends, whattup! I’ve been gone for a minute, although I haven’t been anywhere. I’ve been living life so I haven’t had much time to document/write about it. I refuse to neglect my blog though. Much has gone on in the past few weeks, birthdays and baby showers and such. It’s important to surround yourself with family and good people. Energy (good or bad) is contagious therefore those around you are a (slight) reflection of who you are. Now that I’m done with my spontaneous preaching I just wanted to say that I’m still alive and will be posting random photos as well as great new music and the good old school classic.
P.S. Are y’all aware of the chaos that is twitter? I’ve been on twitter for a few months and rarely update because nothing especially extravagant goes on in my daily life. (Although that’s not really the point of twitter.) Anyway, EVERYONE and they mama is on twitter and it is constantly being updated. Pure insanity.
