The next stop is the Eastsiiiiide Moteeeeel. Today, the taping for VH1’s Hip Hop Honor was held with performances such as Jay-Z/Kanye West tributes by Fabolous & Wale and much more. Trey Songz also performed Nate Dogg’s part with Warren G during “Regulate” which I found very interesting. I’m interested to see how it all went down.
P.S. Is it just me or does anyone else think that Trey & Fab been looking more alike each time I see them? I know they’re cool and all but I swear they startin to look like brothers to me. No?
Today, Michael Jackson passed away. My first reaction was: shit happens. When I found out, Twitter was over capacity and every twit was a sad one about how someone felt about the death. Then I thought of how I felt when Aaliyah died, and I understood how people who don’t personally know someone can become affected by someone they feel a connection to. So definitely, Rest In Peace MJ. He was only 50 years old. =[ On a lighter note, below is one of my favorite Michael Jackson song/video! I loveee the choreography, ha!
The phenominal Kim Burrell singing ‘Be Greatful‘. Her runs are amazing and her words are all “real talk” ha.
I use to always think Pharrell was boring (regardless of the fact that the Neptunes’ beats are CRAZY dope) because he was always so calm in interviews. THEN I saw videos of him performing with N*E*R*D. Obviously, my theory was proven wrong. In this clip, Pharrell is singing and dancing to persuade some Mc Donalds employees at an airport in Paris to open the restaurant early. Unfortunately, mission failed.

How the HELL does Jazmine Sullivan get nominated 5 times and wins NONE, yet Lil Wayne takes home FOUR. They India.Arie’d her! Also, I REAAAAAAAAAAAALLLY wish someone would tell me Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent” was a better male R&B VOCAL PERFORMANCE than Trey’s “Can’t Help But Wait”. Honestly, I’m not hating or anything because I didn’t expect Trey or Jazmine to win although I feel it is time they shine. Lil Wayne and Ne-Yo are talented in their own light (I mean how else do they keep having hits) but I feel like the underdogs STAY the underdogs. That’s not a problem though. We all know how dope ‘Fearless‘ and ‘Trey Day‘ were.
Check out this video of the boys Pusha & Malice circa ‘97. The boys sound a little (/end sarcasm) different here. Feelin’ this beat though! Plus a not-so-billionaire-boy Pharrell makes an appearance. Of course the beat was by The Neptunes.

At work, I like to sing theme songs from old TV shows. Hell, I just sing everything all the time. Anyway, for the past few days I’ved asked everyone if they remember the cartoon show Daria which use to play on MTV back when they actually played music videos. I even reminded them that she use to be on Beavis & Butthead and how they’d always harass her by singing “Diarreah, cha-cha-cha” and NOTHING. So, I sang the theme song cuz I loved it. STILL nothing. ONE person knew what I was talking about but could not recognize the theme song. For all you LAMES who do not know Daria, I found a youtube clip of the theme song.
To the Daria fans, show me some love (aka links to some episodes ha!)
P.S. At this second, I am watching the old cartoon Recess on one of the Disney channels at 1am haha. Don’t tell me y’all don’t remember that. I’ll give you one (singing) hint: “Onee Saturday morniiing” haha.

This interview of Jay-Z has been around the internet for some days now. After watching the video, I felt it was post-worthy. Jay doesn’t always show his charismatic/humorous side, so this was a little different. U.K. interview Jonathon Ross even asks him questions about Beyonce…you can check out Jay’s response to that.
